Each contributor chose a unique style, theme, and page count for their own section, so the book is filled with everyone’s love and passion for the MOTHER series. In other words, this is a book that’s uniquely filled with motivation. With all 35 of them aboard, we were able to create this book, Pollyanna. To our surprise and delight, many of them chimed in that they were fans themselves, and offered to join the project. They were all very gracious in agreeing to contribute to the book.Īfter that, we reached out on Twitter and asked people to share more artists who they knew were MOTHER fans. When we set out to make an official MOTHER tribute comic, we reached out to manga artists who had previously expressed their love for MOTHER.
The book also includes a bonus sticker sheet attached to the binding. Shigesato Itoi also contributed to the book himself, creating a hand-drawn map for the overarching MOTHER series. Each creator poured their own unique love for MOTHER into the book, creating a truly special result.

The name “Hobonichi” means “Almost Every Day.” The main site’s url “also means Itoi. At the time, Satoru Iwata was also an IT manager for the company and remained as an IT manager despite leading Nintendo. Hobonichi was founded by Shigesato Itoi on June 6th, 1998. They also make Techos, which is their daily planner/notebook. Hobonichi is mostly known for products such as Haramaki, which is a type of Japanese clothing that covers the stomach, typically worn for health or fashion. Hobonichi (ほぼ日) (also known as Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun) (ほぼ日刊イトイ新聞) is Shigesato Itoi’s personal company responsible for daily life products.
